The Problem

What does human error look like in food processing environments?

Manual sanitation practices can vary from shift to shift and person to person, creating unnecessary variability in your contamination control strategy.

Liquid Chemicals in a food processing facility

Liquid Chemicals

Most Common Issues

  • Mismeasured chemicals
  • Contact times reduced or left too long
  • Water temperatures for mixing not adhered to
  • No rinse violations, including forgetting or not fully rinsing surfaces
Shoe Covers in a food processing facility

Shoe Covers

Most Common Issues

  • Improperly cleaned hands contaminating shoe covers
  • Improper fit increases likelihood of tears and contamination spread
  • Adjusting shoe covers after they're fitted contaminates hands
  • Time required to don shoe covers can cause bottleneck in gowning areas
Foam & Powder Chemicals in a food processing facility

Foam & Powder Chemicals

Most Common Issues

  • Inconsistent contact time with employee footwear
  • More easily stepped over / avoided
  • Difficult to ensure the same amount and time applied to each employee, especially at high-traffic times like shift change
